About Southlake, Texas

Overview: Southlake Texas is one of the most sought out towns to live in all of the DFW Metroplex and North Texas due to top-notch public schools, entertainment options, proximity to DFW Airport and family friendly neighborhoods. Most neighborhoods in Southlake give it somewhat of a small-town feel however there is also a high level of prestige in the town. While many towns in the around the Metroplex have a rather low bottom buy-in housing price, in Southlake you'll need to typically spend at least $400,000 to purchase a home and many sell well over $1,000,000. Southlake has recently been ranked in the top 10 wealthiest zip codes in America and over 70% of it's residents earn over $100,000 annually. This all stated, people in Southlake tend to be very friendly and the town is known as a fantastic place to raise a family.

Schools: Southlake schools are highly regarded as some of the best in all of North Texas. Southlake schools are in the Carroll Independent School District (CISD) which is the largest school district in Texas with an Exemplary rating across the board. On GreatSchools.org, every school is rated a 10 out of 10 with the exception of Carroll Senior High which is rated a 9 - still a fantastic rating. Additionally, all schools have a full-time resource officer (police officers) on site for protection. CISD is one of the only districts in America to do this. Strengthening CISD's standing is a 0% drop out rate and attendance rate close to 100% - very impressive. The most impressive statistic to me however is the fact that close to 100% of CISD students attend College or University after graduating. This district is known for phenomenal college preparation.

Entertainment: Residents find that one of the best attributes about living in Southlake Texas is that they do not have to go far for great shopping and dining options. The Southlake Town Square is one of the most popular places for excellent dining, shopping and family events. Although many times windy and sometimes pretty hot, there are some excellent outdoor dining options at places like Mi Cocina and Brio Tuscan Grille. If you're in town to search for a home to buy in or around Southlake, the Hilton in the Town Square is a wonderful choice and there is even a great movie theater in this outdoor shopping mecca featuring over 100 shops. Some of the biggest events at the Southlake Town Square during the year are Art in the Square and the annual Stars & Strips firework show - one of the best displays in North Texas. Southlake is also adjacent to Grapevine which is rich in history and always having outdoor events at their quaint downtown historic area and it is also only about 30 minutes away from both downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth.
